Delivery of travel documents

General

You can have your passport or identity card delivered. For example: to your home or your place of work in the evening or at the weekend. Delivery can be scheduled for anywhere in the Netherlands except for the Wadden Islands. It is not yet possible to have your driving licence delivered. Your passport or identity card will be ready after one week.

Application for delivery

You can apply for delivery at one of the desks in the Town Hall. You must always apply for a travel document in person.

  • You must apply for a passport or identity card at one of the desks in the Town Hall.
  • You must make an appointment beforehand. You can make an appointment by telephone or via our website.
  • When you apply for the passport, you can choose delivery. Please note:you cannot change your mind later.
  • We will ask for your e-mail address and telephone number. We will pass this information to AMP. AMP is the delivery company.
  • Within 5 working days, AMP will send you an e-mail or text message to ask you to schedule a delivery time. You will receive an order number and verification code.
  • You must make an appointment yourself by telephone or online.
  • Your passport or identity card will be delivered in the Netherlands to the address which you have indicated.

Costs

Delivery of a travel document costs €14.75. If 2 or more documents are delivered to one address at the same time, the total cost will be €20.35.

Making an appointment for delivery

You can make an appointment with AMP in 2 ways:

Online

Go to mijnafspraak.nl. Log in with your order number and verification code. Choose a date, time period and address for delivery.
You can also change the appointment here if necessary. You can do this up to one day before delivery and no later than 22:30 PM.

By Telephone

To make an appointment with AMP, call (030) 240 8020. Contact: Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM until 9:00 PM, on Friday until 7:00 PM and on Saturday until 4:30 PM.

Delivery times

When you plan your appointment with AMP, you can choose the time period for delivery of your travel document. Delivery times are:

  • Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
  • Saturday from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM.

On the day of delivery, you will receive an e-mail or text message giving the time of delivery. This is a 2-hour slot. For example: between 10:00 AM and 12:00 noon. This message will also contain information about the delivery person. His name, photo and a unique identification code.

Delivery service

The AMP Group delivers passports and identity cards for us. This company is experienced in the delivery of documents. Identity checks play an important role here. We do not deliver documents ourselves.

You can follow the status of your delivery on mijnafspraak.nl or call AMP. Please make sure that you are present at the designated time. The delivery person will have a laptop with him for completing the delivery. For your convenience and safety, it is more comfortable if you ask the delivery person to come in. You can receive your document in comfort and safety. Do you find this unsettling? That is not a problem. The delivery person can complete the delivery formalities on your doorstep. Your travel document will be transported in a sealed envelope. Before opening the envelope, the delivery person will show his ID pass to prove that he works for the AMP Group. Next, he will check your identity and personally hand over your travel document.

How will you recognise an employee of the AMP group?

You can verify this in the following ways:

  • Check mijnafspraak.nl on the day of delivery. You will see a passport photo of the employee who will visit you.
  • On mijnafspraak.nl you will also receive a unique code which the employee can use to prove his identity. You can ask the employee to show you this code when he arrives.
  • For security reasons, employees of the AMP group do not wear a uniform.

Delivery of more than one document to the same address

Please note: You must take delivery of the document in person. This means that every family member who receives a new travel document must take delivery in person. This also applies to juveniles, including babies. The delivery person from AMP will check your identity. Please take this into consideration when you make your appointment for delivery.

When is it not possible to have a document delivered?

It is not possible to have your new travel document delivered:

  • if you have made an urgent application because you need your new travel document in a hurry;
  • if you have a valid visa in your passport which you still wish to use;
  • if you have lost your current passport or identity card during the period between the application and the delivery;
  • if you have reported the loss of your identity card more than 3 times within 5 years. In short: if your proof of identity is lost or has been stolen;
  • if the delivery address is located on one of the Wadden islands;
  • if your address details are being investigated. This means that it is not clear where you live. You must first register as a resident with your municipality.

In the above cases, you must collect your passport or identity card at the desk in the Town Hall where you made your application.
