Reporting a change of address

General

If you intend to move house, or if you have just moved house you must notify the municipality of your new place of residence. You must notify the municipal authorities of your new place of residence regarding your (intended) move. This must be done whether you are moving to a different municipality or staying in our municipality. You must also inform the municipal authorities about who is moving house with you, such as your spouse and any children.

Reporting a change of address

You must report your change of address no later than five days after your move. You can also do it at an earlier stage, although no earlier than four weeks before your move. If you are staying in our municipality, you have to inform us of your new address. You can use the button above to report your change of address online.

You can also make an appointment online or by telephone (0224) 210 400.

We only work on an appointment basis. You cannot drop in without an appointment. Appointments are free of charge.

If you are taking up residence from abroad for the first time, if you are resettling from abroad or if you are applying for a postal address, please contact us by telephone (0224) 210 400.

Who can give notice of a change of address?

The person who is moving must give notice him/herself. If you are moving house and others are moving with you, there are some exceptions to this rule. You may give notice of a change of address for the following people:

  • Your spouse or your registered partner. This person must live at the same address as you.
  • Your parents, if they live at the same address as you.
  • Children aged 18 and above, if they live at the same address as you.

If you have been placed under supervision, your guardian will give notice of your change of address. Your guardian is the person charged with your supervision. If you are in prison a prison officer will give notice of your change of address.
