Direct debit taxes

General

You can pay your municipal taxes by direct debit. This means that you authorise the municipal authorities to debit the tax sum from your bank account in instalments. That makes things easy because you always pay on time. You can arrange this using your DigiD.

Application/cancellation

If you do not have DigiD or a printer, you can call (0224) 210 400 and ask for an authorisation card to be sent to you.

Direct debit means that you authorise the municipal authorities to debit the tax sum from your bank account.

This authorisation is person-specific. This means that the person named in the tax assessment notice must personally apply for direct debit. A partner or co-resident may not do this.

  • If you have given us an authorisation, please check it carefully. Next year, your taxes will be deducted from your bank account again by direct debit.
  • You can always reverse a direct debit payment and
  • you can always cancel the authorisation. You do not have to give a reason. You can arrange this by DigiD. The direct debit will stop immediately. You can do this with the form cancellation of authorisation for direct debit of tax.

Deadlines for payment

  • If you apply for direct debit within 2 weeks of the date noted on your tax assessment notice, the assessed tax sum will be deducted in 10 equal instalments at the end of the month.
  • If the date noted on the tax assessment is more than 2 weeks ago, you can still apply for direct debit. However, the outstanding tax debt will be recovered in fewer instalments. The later you apply for payment terms, the fewer instalments are possible.
  • Example 1: Your assessment dated 28 February is €200. If you apply for direct debit before 15 March, the tax sum will be deducted in 10 monthly payments of €20.
  • Example 2: Your assessment dated 28 February is €200. If you apply for direct debit after 15 March, the tax sum will be deducted in 9 monthly payments of €22.22.

Changing bank account number

Have you changed your bank account number? Please let us know. You can do this by filling in the form amendment of direct debit account number.
